     Well, as I've said before this has taken years, and oddly at times I thought I'd never get there, but here are all thirty of the Rustiche as re-interpreted by good myself. The bf thinks I'm mad.  Apologies for the photo - I took it this afternoon in our sitting room. Anyway hopefully they should all be mounted and framed ready for my exhibition at Aberglasney in September.  Watch this space for more details!

     Well, it's come to an end.  It's finished!  I have completed all thirty of the Rustiche arches contained in Sebastiano Serlio's posthumous 'Extraordinario Libro di Architettura'.  In a way it's an anti-climax, but it does mean I can develop new projects - I'm thinking about producing an architectural alphabet next.

     Not sure what to say here that hasn't been said before! Still I am finally getting to the end of this long project - as I type this post downstairs in the kitchen which doubles as my temporary studio the final drawing is awaiting completion.

     Been a bit tardy in posting this, still 'better late than never'.  The usual rules apply.

     Another completed painting in my long-running painting sequence following Sebastiano Serlio's 'Rustiche' - the thirty designs found in his posthumous 'Extaordinario Libro di Archittetura'.  It follows the long established format: mixed media over pencil under drawing on 300gsm watercolour paper, 25.5 x 24.5 cms.

     Well, it really has been a while since I posted anything. To be truthful it's been just over two months.  A lot has happened since then:  I have moved across the country to Wales and set up home with the bf and I have an exhibition, my first, on at Gallery Stamford running until Jan 15th.  Painting, as well as blogging, has taken a backseat.  However I am slowly getting back into the swing of things.  My latest work is from my continuing series of arches from Sebastiano Serlio's 'Extraordinario Libro'. I  have reached Arch XXIII. The format remains the same; mixed media on cold pressed 300 gsm watercolour paper, 34.5 24.5 cms.

     As it's only the 5th Day of Christmas I can still wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

     A stage further towards the completion of the Rustiche series with this Arch, number XXII, and a sudden change of style from the last Arch (XX) to something even more controlled than my normal style.  I put it down to a current interest in the 'Brotherhood of Ruralists'.

     The Rustiche project continues with arch XX, perhaps one of the most bizarre of all Serlio's designs which, as you can see incorporates both a caryatid and a telemon, both of which appear to have been mummified.  Not quite sure what's going on there.  As you can see the technique is a bit looser than normal.  Time I thought for a little experimentation.

   After a considerable break I have returned to a on-going project of mine: a re-interpretation of the thirty designs that make up the 'Rustiche' in the 'Extraordinario Libro di Architettura' of Sebastiano Serlio.  Here then, for your delectation and delight, is arch XVIII.

   I've now completed fifteen pictures in the Rustiche series from the Extraordinario Libro d'Architettura of Sebastiano Serlio.  Half way.  So I'm taking a rest, and for a few months will be drawing and painting other things!

   Finally after five attempts at Arch X of Serlio's Rustiche I've produced this.  Still not entirely happy with it, but I feel I have to do something else before I can return and have another attempt.

   I've reached arch IX, but having done a some out of sequence I have actually completed 12 of the XXX.  This picture marks a departure for me in that it is my first proper collage, and I'm rather pleased with it - although it is bit too much like work by Ed Kluz, though that isn't a bad thing in itself.
